If you want to add more customizations to the Crosswinds Framework outside of the site editor, but don’t want to , you can create a child theme.
To create a child theme for the Crosswinds Framework, you can check out a starter child theme I created for the theme. You can download the ZIP file from the repository and install it on your website. Once it’s installed, activate the theme and then you can make any changes you want in that theme without worrying about it getting overwritten in a theme update.
You can add in PHP code, customize any of the templates, add your own patterns and more with your child theme.
You can learn more about what child themes are and how to create a child theme in WordPress in this video.
